Review:
Bridlewood Golf Club is a near private club level golf course and practice center on an 800 acre master planned community. Located about 35 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and just twelve miles north of DFW airport in Flower Mound, it is convenient to anyone in the mid-cities or northern Tarrant County.

The championship par 72 golf course designed by local PGA pro D.A Weibring measures a challenging 7111 yards from the pro tees. The state of the art 14 acre practice area has ample space for up to 100 or more hitting at the same time before a tournament. Teamed with the large practice area is a very nice 12000 square foot club house making Bridlewood a great choice for a large, high-end tournament.

We found the course in good shape on May 13 2004, finding the usual ball mark and dead spot trouble at a high traffic course with bent grass greens. This course played long with three par fours over 425 yards. We played on a somewhat windy day, making the distances all that much more challenging. We preferred the back nine, finding it in better shape and prettier to the eye. Other than a few beat up greens on the front nine, our only complaint would be the fact that about half of the holes are cart path only full time--something I have never seen on any other course. The course may improve in condition over the next year or so as I understand that the management has changed. In the price range of $75.00 per player, I expect a course to be closer to perfection; however we used a golfq.com discount, making our cost a reasonable $55.00. I like this course better than its famous neighbor Tour 18, and loved the back nine along with the great driving range.

Bridlewood Golf Club is a good choice with lots of amenities, good food and service. Let us know what you think when you get a chance to play this course and hit them straight.
