| Review: Head south 30 miles from Fort Worth to Granbury for Harbor Lakes Golf Club--a tough great new 7239 yard course opened in late 2003. If wind, length, and tons of water intimidate your game, get some therapy first because they are in abundance at this new course. From the tips, this course will play as a monster but most of us will find the Black or Silver tees more our speed but still more challenging than most courses. We have played Harbor Lakes on five different occasions now and found the great condition, value and friendly staff made for a great golf day each time.
With thirteen holes having water as a hazard and on 9,12,14,15,16,17,18 having water on both sides, you better hit your shots straight and some lay ups will be needed in order to score well. Take a moment to concentrate for your tee shot on hole 14, the 600 yard #1 handicap with a narrow fairway and water everywhere.
Designed by Dick Phelps from Colorado and managed by former European Tour player Robert McMullen, this challenging layout features Tifsport Bermuda grass fairways and Tifeagle Bermuda grass greens. The new 10,000 square foot clubhouse was just finished and opened in the winter of 2004 with a full bar, good menu and comfortable seating to relax after a round. Call 817-578-8600 for a tee time and enjoy.
