Earrings

EARRINGS

The current trend in earring styles is not just simple studs, chandeliers and hoops. Double sided, peek-a-boo, ear jacket and cuff earrings have been the rage from Paris to New York fashion week.

Pearl earrings

Pearl earrings are time-honored classics. Queen Elizabeth I of England was extremely fond of pearl earrings, and the current Queen shares that fondness. Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring”, also known as the Dutch Mona Lisa, is one of the world’s most recognizable paintings. The pearl earring can be worn every day as well as with cocktail attire. A long dangling style works for social events, and a more traditional style works for office wear. They are a good investment because of their versatility.

Stud earrings

While many prefer something precious, they still want to keep it elegant and simple. You can consider earrings made with precious stones such as diamond, sapphire, ruby, or emerald or even semi-precious options such as pink or green tourmaline, tanzanite or citrine. Stud earrings are the perfect choice that are both conservative and refined.

Hoop earrings

Their perfect circles can add symmetry and appeal to your profile.

Huggie earrings

Another popular design is the huggie earring. There are two variations of huggie earrings. Some follow the shape of the earlobe while others are in hoop form. However, both variations hug the ear closely.

Peek-a-Boo earrings

The double sided, peek-a-boo, ear jacket and cuff earrings are all variations that have been spotted on celebrities. Sporting a diamond, sapphire, or ruby, they can be stunners. A new trend to try, it presents an opportunity to think differently about earrings. Earrings are not just about simple studs, chandeliers and hoops. There are a lot of earrings trends going on these days.

Needle earrings

A funky variant of the hoop earring is the needle earring. Distinctive on account of their really light weight and that they have a long chain through the lobes, they just draw attention.

Drop earrings

These are earrings that "drop" below the earlobe slightly and, typically, some kind of decoration like a gemstone, charm or bead drops directly from the base of the earring. Due to its construction, movement is generally limited.

Chandelier earrings

Chandelier earrings are the ideal accessory to help channel your inner glamour. This is a fun style that moves to show off the sparkle of the gemstones. Recently there has been a reimagining of chandelier earrings. No longer limited to only unconventionally inspired designs featuring long chains and hanging beads, they now cross over many different styles and are inspired by many various eras.
